The Lattelecom system of data centres provides maximum benefit if used to ensure quality operation, management and maintenance of the company's high-risk information systems (IS).
There are six interconnected Lattelecom data centres set up to meet the Lattelecom customer needs. All cata centres provide access to various external networks, including also the Internet, Lattelecom public data network and Lattelecom Baltic Network.
What is data centre?
A data centre is a fire-proof and secure facility maintaining appropriate microclimate conditions and uninterruptible power supply. A data centre is designed for hosting and maintaining the customer’s information systems to which the clients or employees of this customer can remotely connect, using telecommunications communication channels or the Internet.
All data centres are located in Riga on either side of the river Daugava, and Lattelecom is the only company in Latvia that can boast such advanced data centre infrastructure. Meeting the various customer needs, the system permits these companies to set up the company’s system backup facilities, where the core equipment is located within one data centre, whilst the backup equipment is positioned within an other data centre, but the backup data is stored within some other data centre again, thereby avoiding fully the risk of losing critical company data.
More about system of data centres

All data centres are accommodated with backup power circuits and diesel generators to maintain uninterruptible power supply to the data centre at times when the Latvenergo power network is unavailable.

Where the Lattelecom system of data centres is also used to access the Internet the customer is offered the following service package:
- Domestic bandwidth up to 1 Gbit/s, appropriate international bandwidth and quality data transmission 24h a day,
- Necessary number of static IP addresses (subject to the customer’s needs),
- The company’s systems are housed in the Lattelecom System of data centres and the customer can access the data from any location in the world,
- The access to the Lattelecom public data network allows the customer to locate its servers within the data centres and connect to these the company’s computer network.
The service provides maximum benefit to customers who have located their offices throughout the country and need to ensure secure and fast access by the company’s employees to the company’s data network. Customer gains:
- all computer networks of the company are interlinked and connected to the company’s uniform network, regardless of their location (whatever city or town in Latvia),
- the company’s data is protected through eliminating the access to the corporate computer network via the Internet,
- the newly established structural units are easy to connect to the network;the connection of the existing structural units is simple to upgrade (or downgrade),
- the corporate computer network is simple to connect to the Internet,
- remote users can access the company’s data via the Internet or through dial-up.
For companies whose branches are located throughout the Baltics, in Scandinavian countries or Russia we’d recommend that the company’s central IT systems were housed inside the Lattelecom system of data centres, thus allowing the company employees to access the corporate data network through the Lattelecom Baltic Network.
Customer gains:
- all computer networks of the company are interlinked and connected to the company’s uniform network, regardless of the location of the structural unit (whether located in the Baltics, Scandinavian countries or Russia),
- one person responsible for the operation of all regional systems connected to the Pan-Baltic Network.
